Firework Cake
one way to wow the eff outta your guests:
Ingredients:
3 boxes white cake mix
so thats, 9 eggs
3/4 cup oil
2 1/2 cups water
apricot or strawberry jam
Vanilla icing
red and blue food dye
2 different pans: sheet cake pan and a brownie pan
Decorating tools:
I used little golden edible beads and some
gel writers
parchement paper
Saran Wrap
Method:
preheat oven to 350
prepare ya cakes
follow box instructions
line ya pans with parchment
you need to make two sheet cakes
one red (15 drops of dye or maybe you can just use red velvet mix, idk)
one white
you need to make one brownie pan cake
of blue cake (15 drops of dye)
once cooled place the white on top of the red
(i used the apricot jam to hold the layers together, and you basically use it as
glue to hold this whole debacle together)
NOW LISTEN HERE
YOU GOTTA DO SOME MATH AND IM REAL BAD AT IT
you take 1/3 of your sheet cakes and place it in the center of the 2/3 of the remaining cake
then you measure out the blue to place on the open corners. Using the jam, glue 'em together, wrap 'em in Saran Wrap and smash 'em with books, being left overnight in the fridge to chill.
However, for the correctomundo math, watch this video:
Molly Yeh's team USACake
after chilling overnight, slather on some of dat white vanilla icing and
do you on some firework designs, or do whatever your little patriotic heart desires
so I used Molly Yeh's recipe/idea intially and she's a bad bitch for sure
and def takes the cake for the cutest and most crowd pleasing peekaboo!
