Cherry Pie
One way to make a cherry pie:
Ingredients:
1 pkg. store bought pie crusts
1 1/2 pounds fresh cherries
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 cup sugar
2 tsp lemon juice
1 egg
Method:
preheat oven at 400 degrees
pit the cherries
put 'em in a bowl
add in the cornstarch, sugar and lemon juice
let that sit while you get them crusts in a 9 inch pie pan
poke the bottom crust with a fork to ensure it wont bubble up
pour in the cherry mixture
(I cut the second pie crust into stripes to do a lattice top, but you can
do whatever you little pinterest heart tells you

before baking you can use an egg white wash for shine and
a sprinkling of sugar for look

bake dat pie for 25 minutes
remove CAREFULLY! (fresh fruit producecs extra juice, liquid which can spill out and
DESTROY your oven, we have learned this the hard way)
put a foil ring around the crust to avoid burning
bake for an additional 20 minutes
let stand for at least 15-20 minutes
eat dat
Now, I never made a pie with fresh fruit before. I always used canned fruit. Why? because fake shit is delicious, as myself and my dinner guest, Sarah, agreed. But this pie...Girl, this pie was excellent. It wasnt super sweet. It was tart and sweet, but refreshing and didn't leave you needing something to drink, like you had a film in your mouth or somethin. Impress your friends and neighbors with this easy ass pie, that DEFINITLEY looks homemade but tastes like you're Betty Crocker herself, reincarnated with your 2019 swagger but wit all dat sensible 1950's cookery.
